How can I get the parent of an element if it is nested within a `bpmn:Participant` or `bpmn:Lane`?

When I click on the element, it has parents, except for the bpmn:Lane or bpmn:Participant.

Can you attach the diagram XML and a short explanation of what you’re trying to do, how you’re trying to get the parent etc.?
