Alternatives for displaying of BPMN IO Watermark

Is there any way to remove the bpmn io watermark without breaking the license? Any options like acknowledging bpmn.io in another place in my application or even paying some kind of fee to have it removed?

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out. Why would you like to remove the watermark from your application?

We’re building a standalone orchestration platform with its own identity and UX.

While we rely on bpmn.io components for modeling, the goal is to present a consistent product experience without references to underlying libraries in the UI.

It’s not about hiding attribution — we’re happy to properly acknowledge bpmn.io and its contributors in documentation, licensing, or an “About” section.

But from a product perspective, we prefer not to expose implementation details (like the modeling library) directly in the interface, as it can confuse users about what is part of the platform versus what is a third-party component.

That’s why we’re exploring whether there are supported or commercial options for handling attribution outside of the modeling canvas.

Thank you for your insights.

Unfortunately, we don’t engage in individual license agreements to remove the watermark. The modeling toolkit of bpmn.io is available for free to anyone. There are products and open source projects (e.g. Drupal) out there which adhere to the license, and this way give back to the community - spread the word about bpmn.io if you will. Without the logo present on the canvas, the bpmn.io users won’t learn about the project, and it will appear as an in-house solution.
